Temporary Import Planning for Events and Exhibitions
What organisers and exhibitors should prepare when equipment, displays or samples enter Singapore for a limited event period.
Build the customs plan into the event schedule
The shipment timeline should include document preparation, transport cut-offs, permit processing, venue access, installation and re-export. Do not plan customs clearance as an isolated task immediately before opening day.
List every item and intended use
Separate consumables, giveaways and goods intended for sale from items that will leave Singapore after the event. Serial numbers and values are especially useful for equipment and high-value displays.
Plan the return movement
Assign responsibility for repacking, final inventory, transport booking and export documentation. Temporary-import compliance is not complete when the booth opens; the re-export and record close-out must also be managed.
