Manpower Deployment
How to Scope Manpower Deployment for Logistics Operations
A checklist for defining location, shifts, skills, supervision and safety requirements before temporary operational personnel are deployed.
Define the work location and task
State the facility, access requirements, reporting point and exact activities expected. Cargo handling, document preparation, tallying, runner duties and administrative support require different experience and supervision.
Set the shift and headcount
Provide start and end times, breaks, expected duration, required headcount and whether overtime or weekend work may be needed. Include any peak periods or handover requirements.
Confirm safety and accountability
Identify personal protective equipment, site induction, equipment restrictions, supervisor contacts and incident reporting. A written deployment scope should distinguish client-site instructions from the agreed service responsibilities.
